As we all know that taking care of skin is quite personal and subjective to skin type. However, we have designed a few techniques that generally work best for each skin type whether be oily, dry, normal, combination skin or mature skin.
Oily Skin
Our beautiful folks with oily skin, before you reach out knowingly or unknowingly for mattifying toners and various products to control oil production, know that a layer of oil might actually be a cry for skin hydration.
Instead of scrubbing (aggressively, might we add) and trying multiple products including harsh exfoliators, drying masks here’s how to nurture your skin:
-
Don’t Forget to Moisturize:
Oily skin doesn’t necessarily equate to hydrated skin. In fact, when your skin is dehydrated, it automatically enhances oil production to compensate for the lack of moisture in the skin. What your skin will love is a lightweight moisturizer that will hydrate and nourish your skin deeply without leaving behind a thick or heavy layer of oil over the skin. Our BIO2YOU Skin Repairing Lotion, instantly soothes and hydrates the skin. This moisturizer’s formulation with Almond Oil and Aloe Vera extract makes it an amazing light-weight, anti-inflammatory moisturizer, so that our beloved oily skinned people can keep maintain their skin while keeping breakouts at the bay. Formulated with emollients, it gives a light and silky feel while balancing the hydration level of the oily skin perfectly. It absorbs quickly so you never get that uncomfortable sticky feeling on your skin.
-
Pamper your Skin with a Weekly DIY Facial:
In addition to taking care of your skin on daily basis, an extensive weekly DIY facial is suitable for all skin types but it’s a game-changer for oily skin type to control excess oil, to clean and extract excess sebum from clogged pores, and to hydrate the skin without stripping the skin. You can begin with a gentle facial steam to help unclog the pores and hydrate the skin, creating the perfect base for your next steps. BIO2YOU has amazing Facial Kits customized for every skin type and skin concern. Plus, it’s so easy to use and feels like a mini spa treatment accessible at home. Simply, grab a bowl of hot water (not boiling) and place a towel above your head. Follow with our trusty BIO2YOU Cleansing milk containing powerful anti-oxidants, skin soothing, gentle exfoliating and cell-communicating ingredients to cleanse off any dirt or residue from the skin. Then comes BIO2YOU Skin Polish with milk extracts that, as obvious from its name, gives skin a polished look by cleaning the pores deeply and making the skin glow instantly. Skin Polish is then followed by our Massage Cream which is packed with anti-oxidants and helps is calming the skin to help regulate the blood flow and lymphatic drainage during the facial massage. BIO2YOU Skin Sinner with Rose Water and skin loving ingredient, Glycerin helps to moisturize the layers of skin and nourish the skin deep within to make skin plumper and glowier. Our Creamy BIO2YOU Scrub is not as the typical scrub with harsh grains that damage the skin with micro tears, in fact, is gentle on the skin formed with micro-exfoliants for mild exfoliation to eradicate dead skin and dirt from the top layer of the skin to bring forth fresh skin. BIO2YOU Facial Toner is followed in between facial steps to provide the skin with some extra hydration. The toner not only rejuvenates the skin but is a key product to improve skin’s overall texture and tone. Our much loved detoxifying masks, including Bentonite Mineral Mask and Charcoal Peel Off Mask with activated charcoal, both contain extremely mild and gentle exfoliating agents, and colloidal sulfur to draw out any residual impurities while giving the skin cooling and calming effect follow with a surge of much needed hydration and soothing effect through BIO2YOU Soothing Lotion. Finally! seal everything off with a targeted serum for respective problem, we have got quite a few. Our go-to? It’s quite a lengthy process but it’s the ultimate de-stress combo for self-love days. Don’t forget to lock-in that moisture with the ultimate Repairing Lotion right after.

Invest in Great Chemical Exfoliants but avoid over-exfoliation:
Exfoliating is essential for all skin types but it’s a make-or-break moment for oily skin. Call on oil-soluble BHAs like salicylic acid to break down oil, dirt, and debris that’s lurking in your pores that could otherwise trigger a mild or massive breakout along with black heads and white heads. However, remember not to go overboard because over-exfoliating can damage your skin barrier, which leads to dehydrated skin that can send your sebaceous glands into an oil-producing frenzy. Exfoliating 2-3 times a week (unless it states otherwise on your product) should be plenty. This is why we prefer AHAs for mild exfoliation, specifically BIO2YOU Mandelic Acid, reputed to be the most skin friendly mild exfoliant that brightens the skin as well. Directions to use might vary as per the skin concern however, consultation with an expert is preferable.
You can also try weaving in a gentle cleanser formulated with AHAs such as our Extra Brightening Face wash into your routine, which will help to gently exfoliate on daily basis without altering your skin’s pH or damaging your protective skin barrier with non-comedogenic formula that doesn’t clog pores.
Combination Skin
Taking care for combination skin maybe the most tricky one, but don’t you worry boo, we got you!. You surely are looking for a balanced skincare routine made up of hydrating formulas to give drier areas the love they need and decongesting products for oily zones. Take the time to chat it up with your skin to understand what she’s asking you for. Our most favorite products for combination skin are BIO2YOU Aloe Vera Soothing Peel Off Mask, BIO2YOU Niacinamide Serum and Extra Brightening Face wash.

Look for Lightweight Hydration:
It may feel counter-productive to moisturize an oily T-zone, but as we emphasized for our folks with oily skin, dehydrated combination skin needs to be nourished to stop excessive oil production. Look for a lightweight moisturizer, like BIO2YOU Repairing Lotion to rejuvenate dry patches and replenish oily zones. Our BIO2YOU Skin Repairing Lotion, instantly soothes and hydrates the skin. This moisturizer’s formulation with Almond Oil and Aloe Vera extract makes it an amazing light-weight,anti-inflammatory moisturizer, so that our beloved combination skinned people can keep their breakouts at the bay. Formulated with emollients, it gives a light and silky feel while balancing the hydration level of the oily parts of the skin perfectly. The best part of it is that it gets absorbed into the skin like as you never applied any product over your face in the first place.
To boost hydration, brightness and get that glowy instagram skin, add a serum like the BIO2YOU 24-k Gold Serum or Niacinamide Serum.
-
Weekly Masks to Decongest Oily Areas:
Decongest your pores weekly with BIO2YOU Mineral Mask formulated with kaolin and Bentonite clay to draw out grease and dirt.
Apply it to your T-zone and oily areas while you’re in the shower – the steam seals in moisture and protects your skin from over drying. Follow with a hydrating serum like 24-k Gold serum or anti-oxidants packed Vitamin-c Serum and Skin Repairing Lotion.
-
Target Different Areas of your Face with Specific Ingredients:
Don’t second guess it, girl! If your cheeks need hydration, but your forehead feels oily, then focus different parts of your routine in different areas. Target drier areas with an oil on top of your moisturizer to lock in that extra moisture, cuz you need it girl ! Your skin may ask for different things, but it’s essential to give it what it’s craving – whatever it may be.
Dry Skin
Our peeps with dry skin ! we feel you and we know that your skin screams the most; Hydration. You don’t have to jump through cleansers, exfoliants, and peels to combat flakey patches – all you really need is a hefty dose of hydration.
-
Say Yes to Cleansing Balms and Rich Formulas:
Think butter, oils, and the likes on your next shopping trip for a cleanser. Not only do cleansing balms whisk away gunk and grime, but they’ll leave your cheeks plump AF.
There are multiple options to go for when it comes to cleansing balms that help to seal in moisture and boost radiance with its wipe-on, wipe-off consistency – you don’t even need water to wipe this hydrating goodness away.
-
Adapt the slugging process:
Slugging involves slathering your face with good occlusive, available in market but let’s be honest, a nice and thin layer of petroleum jelly aka Vaseline as the last step of your nighttime skin care routine does the job well.
This not only moisturizes your skin deeply but also helps lock in the other hydrating products you applied so they can work their magic. This step our friends, as we call, is sealing the deal.
-
Be Wary of Harsh Toners, Exfoliants, and Soaps:
Astringents like alcohol and witch hazel are known for their oil-stripping and excessive drying qualities, so they’re an absolute no-no when it comes to dry skin. Steer clear from harsh toners, harsh exfoliants, and soaps, because they’ll send your dry skin two steps back. Look for formulas with names that include words like nourishing, plumping and hydrating.
-
Don’t Let Your Skin Air Dry: Did you know letting your skin air dry could be making it drier?
After washing your face, lightly pat your face with a clean towel and then seal in any remaining surface moisture with your skin routine.
Sensitive Skin
Now comes our people with sensitive skin. Our beloved individuals, we like to follow a less-is-more approach when it comes to sensitive skin. Since your natural barrier is more delicate than others, you’ll know when she likes or hates anything you apply over. A few precautions, nourishing formulas, and a lot of gentle loving is what your skin really needs.
-
Avoid Hot Water:
We hate to break it to you, but your epidermis does have an archenemy – steaming showers. Opt for warm or cold showers over scalding water because it can strip you’re your natural oils and moisture, leaving your skin feeling tight and dehydrated.
-
Avoid Harsh Ingredients and Opt For Gentle, Hydrating Products:
Stay clear of any harsh, acidic ingredients like alcohol, harsh synthetic fragrance, citrus, glycolic acid or L-ascorbic Acid (a more irritating form of vitamin C). You should also avoid rough scrubs, and harsh cleansing brushes. As sensitive skin loses moisture more easily, layer hydrating creams that contain ingredients like ceramides to support your skin barrier and Niacinamide to protect and soothe your skin.
Natural ingredients like cica and honey are also great, along with repairing nutrients like aloe, chamomile, almond oild, avocado oil, evening primrose, rose, and argan oil. Another great staple is azelaic acid, as it helps soothe inflamed skin. Few recommendations are BIO2YOU Repairing Lotion, BIO2YOU Niacinamide Serum, BIO2YO 24-k Gold Serum, BIO2YOU Aloe Vera Peel Off Mask.

Never skip the Sunscreen:
Ladies and Gentlemen (yup! men also deserve that extra skin-care), we can’t emphasize enough over the fact that we all need to apply sunscreen religiously every day. Excessive sun exposure is extremely dangerous and damaging to all skin types and those with sensitive skin should not avoid SPF. Always look for sunscreens with natural UV blockers, such as zinc oxide and titanium oxide, as they’re non-irritating. Our go-to is the DefenSun Broad-Spectrum SPF 60 Sunblock. Trust us, your skin will thank you in later years.
Mature Skin
There is nothing wrong with aging and we totally hoot for skin of every type, age and condition. However, giving the skin that extra love does wonders to amplify the beauty of grace of matured skin.
Our skin constantly adapts to changes in the environment as it matures, battling everything from dust particles to UV rays. Be sure to nurture it with collagen-stimulating ingredients and moisture-packed formulas to enhance your glow game while helping to soften fine lines and wrinkles.

Never skip the Sunscreen:
Ladies and Gentlemen (yup! men also deserve that extra skin-care), we can’t emphasize enough over the fact that we all need to apply sunscreen religiously every day. Excessive sun exposure is extremely dangerous and damaging to all skin types and those with mature and sensitive skin should not avoid SPF.
Two fingers length of SPF a day keeps the wrinkles and problem causing factors at bay. Always look for sunscreens with natural UV blockers, such as zinc oxide and titanium oxide, as they’re non-irritating. Our go-to is the DefenSun Broad-Spectrum SPF 60 Sunblock. Trust us, your skin will thank you for it.

Antioxidants are your greatest companion:
As your skin matures, your skin’s sebaceous glands produce fewer lipids and collagen production gets slowed down, AKA your skin becomes drier.
To combat dryness, look for hydrating formulas like face oils, rich creams moisturizers that are packed with brightening antioxidants to boost radiance and protect your skin from harmful free radical damage that further breaks down collagen. BIO2YOU Repairing Lotion, 24-k Gold serum and Aloe Vera Hydrating Peel Off Mask as few of our personal favorite recommendations.

Water is your best friend:
We know as boring and mainstream as it sounds, hydration from the inside is as necessary as hydration form the outside.
According to the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine determined that an adequate daily fluid intake is: About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day for men. About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women.
So, what do you guys think about it. Did you find it informative? Please share your suggestions and feedback!
